Inspiration

A blank canvas, the unknown and what is yet to be. A blank canvas is open, inviting, uncharted, yet intimidating. The wheels start to turn with shapes and colors popping in and out of thought. The pencil begins sketching sometimes in the wee hours, awoken from sleep. Objects in the environment become interesting shapes with visions of how they would fit together if painted. The fresh paint on a pallet and the first brush stroke is made. A painting is in the making.

For me, this is inspiration. Inspiration in a form that can be applied to anything we wish to achieve because it is born within us. To be inspired is to be awake, passionate, appreciative, alive! Sometimes, inspiration comes from a gentle nudge and sometimes it comes from a light bulb moment. Sometimes, inspiration shows up in a dream. However it arrives, embrace it, go with it, acknowledge that it may transform one hundred times over before it becomes reality.

Inspiration, where did you go? Inspiration is not always present and frustrating when you want it to be. Don’t expect it and accept when it is not there. Obstacles, roadblocks and challenges of all kinds can get in the way. I have learned that it will come back, sometimes when you least expect it. I have always heard of “writers block” for authors, now I understand.

Create for you and only you, as this is where your true inspiration shines. Find the confidence in knowing that your creation is internal, your own gift, unlike any other. Be you, the special you that God has created!

What inspires you and how are you inspired? My wish is that however it may happen for you, allow it! Open the floodgates, accept it, own it, invite it in! You just never know where your inspiration will take you!

“In my soul there is a treasure
and the key for it is given only to me.”
-Alexander Blok (Poet)

Keep on creating!

Kindly,
Jana
