He is sassy, he has pizazz, he is funny, determined, charming, gentle, kind, wise ….he is ….Snoopy! Snoopy was created by the ever so talented, Charles M. Schwartz, modeled after his own childhood dog, Spike.

For over 50 years, Snoopy & The Peanuts characters charmed the world! I used to draw him all over my school notebooks. I cut out his comic strips, had a watch & t-shirts with his image on them and a stuffed Snoopy to snuggle with. He made me laugh & comforted me when there were tears. I would share my daily adventures with him & he would share his….He accompanied me to school for show and tell and traveled with me on long trips.

There is just something about his character that touches my heart and being a dog,  makes him even more heart warming. Snoopy forever!

Snoopy is universal. My siblings and I would watch the Peanuts holiday specials and we all loved Snoopy. He never uttered a word, but he was the constant in Charlie’s life, the comfort, the sometimes prankster and sometimes punchline.
And his sidekick, Woodstock, another voiceless character who was Snoopy’s confidant.
Through this cartoon Charles Schultz taught us about friendship and loyalty.
